Neocloud General Compute said it will purchase AI systems from chip startup Positron AI, beginning with Positron's Atlas inference systems and also committing to Positron's next-generation Titan hardware.
Atlas is Positron's first-generation chip, fabricated by Intel in the US, and is currently shipping to customers.
Positron raised $875 million in a Series C round last month at a $5 billion post-money valuation.
Neocloud General Compute said it will purchase AI systems from chip startup Positron AI, beginning with Positron's Atlas inference systems and also committing to Positron's next-generation Titan hardware. The systems will be offered to customers in the first quarter of 2027, according to Data Center Dynamics. Financial terms, including committed volumes, were not disclosed.
Atlas is Positron's first-generation chip, fabricated by Intel in the US, and is currently shipping to customers. Positron claims the hardware achieves three times the compute-per-watt of Nvidia's H100 GPUs and supports models of up to 500 billion parameters. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is also deploying Atlas.
Titan is due in 2027 and carries up to 18.4 terabytes of Positron's Asimov memory, with four or eight Asimov chips per server.
"Our mission is to deliver the best neocloud that includes GPUs and alternative chips under one roof," said Finn Puklowski, co-founder and CEO of General Compute. "All under one contract and set of SLAs for our customers."
A memory-first pitch against HBM scarcity
"Inference demand is exploding, and the frontier has moved to models with trillions of parameters that have to respond in real time," said Mitesh Agrawal, CEO of Positron AI. Agrawal said the design lets Positron support a build-out at massive scale "without waiting on the scarce HBM supply that is holding back the rest of the industry."
Positron raised $875 million in a Series C round last month at a $5 billion post-money valuation. The Reno, Nevada company was founded in 2023. General Compute, founded by Puklowski and CTO Jason Goodison, raised $15 million in seed funding in May 2026 and $400 million in debt financing in July. Earlier this month it signed a multi-year agreement to deploy Cerebras' wafer-scale AI hardware starting in the first quarter.
