Vantage signs 1GW solid-state transformer supply deal with Heron Power
Heron says its Heron Link units target more than 98.5% efficiency converting medium-voltage grid power to 800VDC for AI racks.

Vantage has agreed to buy more than 1GW of solid-state transformers from Heron Power, equipment the data center developer expects to support its rollout of 800 VDC racks across its hyperscale portfolio.
Heron says the Heron Link targets more than 98.5% efficiency converting medium-voltage grid power to 800VDC, folding energy storage and power conversion into fewer stages between the utility connection and the rack.
At that rating, 1GW implies roughly 200 units, and Heron selected a Morgan Hill, California factory in August designed to build up to 10,000 a year.

Heron says the Heron Link targets more than 98.5% efficiency converting medium-voltage grid power to 800VDC, folding energy storage and power conversion into fewer stages between the utility connection and the rack. The company designed the product around AI racks, which it describes as higher-density and carrying more variable loads than conventional halls.
Heron Link is a 5MW modular converter built on wide-bandgap semiconductors.

"Our customers need a faster and more efficient way to deploy increasingly power-dense and flexible AI infrastructure," said Curtis Aubry, Vantage's vice president of global product strategy.
Heron was founded in 2024 by Drew Baglino, a former Tesla senior executive, and is based in Scotts Valley, California. It raised $140 million in a Series B earlier this year, bringing total funding to $183 million, according to the report. Baglino said the Vantage partnership would move 800 VDC "from a reference architecture concept to a repeatable, deployed platform."
