NorthC has started construction on a 4.5MW data center in Meyrin, outside Geneva. Construction is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2028, Data Center Dynamics reported. Plans for the site were first announced in January 2026.
The modular facility at Rte du Nant-d'Avril 152 will span 5,400 sqm, with capacity delivered in 1.5MW increments. NorthC said it will use a waterless cooling system, support direct-to-chip liquid cooling, run backup generators on HVO instead of diesel and make waste heat available to local heating networks. "This is a milestone for NorthC and another significant step in our growth in the DACH region," the company said on LinkedIn, thanking partner HIAG and local authorities. Managing director for Switzerland Urs Bürgisser called the ceremony "an exciting milestone."
NorthC, formed in 2019 from the merger of Dutch firms TDCG and NLDC, was acquired by Antin Infrastructure Partners in December 2025. It operates more than a dozen data centers in the Netherlands, eight in Germany and four in Switzerland, having entered Switzerland in 2022 with the Netrics acquisition. The company also held NorthC's 6MW Frankfurt groundbreaking last month.
