Google has confirmed it is the company behind Project Clydesdale, the 506-acre data center campus near the Cherokee Industrial Park in Owasso, outside Tulsa. Data Center Dynamics reported the disclosure. The site extends an Oklahoma footprint that already totals $15 billion.

Beale Infrastructure is the developer of record. The county Board of Commissioners approved the campus in September 2025, with construction beginning soon after. The development plan filed that year lays out at least one phase with three possible additional phases, each covering roughly 200,000 square feet. The project is funded by private investment of at least $700 million, later increased to $1 billion.

The site sits on Cherokee Nation land. The tribe said earlier this month it is blocking data center development on its land, though it does not hold direct regulatory control over this project, according to Data Center Dynamics.

Google's Oklahoma history goes back to Pryor, where it opened its first state campus in 2011 and has expanded at regular intervals since. It is also working on campuses in Stillwater and Sand Springs. In August 2025 the company committed $9 billion to cloud and AI infrastructure in the state. Data Center Dynamics puts the total investment at $15 billion.

Google is funding and installing 1.5 miles of new water lines and infrastructure upgrades for the Washington County Rural Water District, and has committed to paying its power and water needs along with related upgrades. Trystine Payfer, Google's public affairs manager for Oklahoma, described the work as a long-term commitment to Tulsa County that begins with strengthening the local energy grid.

Google is absorbing utility costs to secure the site, and the phase structure suggests the campus is built with expansion in mind. Meta is also developing in Tulsa, according to Data Center Dynamics, making this a two-hyperscaler metro. The data halls will sit on tech-company balance sheets; the water lines, grid upgrades, and land rights are where outside capital finds work.
