Colt Data Centre Services and RMZ said this week that construction has started on Mumbai 3, a 64MW building at their Navi Mumbai campus, after signing a hyperscale customer.
Once the building is online, the campus's three buildings will total 86MW; at full build-out the Navi Mumbai site could reach 148MW.
The construction start sits inside a $1.7 billion joint venture the two firms announced in 2024, through which they have committed to develop 250MW across Mumbai and Chennai.

Once the building is online, the campus's three buildings will total 86MW; at full build-out the Navi Mumbai site could reach 148MW. Mumbai 3 will pair conventional air cooling with direct liquid-to-chip cooling and use a closed-loop system intended to reduce water use, according to Data Center Dynamics, which reported the construction start.
The construction start sits inside a $1.7 billion joint venture the two firms announced in 2024, through which they have committed to develop 250MW across Mumbai and Chennai. The pair are also considering a project in Vizag, according to the report.
Colt DCS lists 15 operational data centers and 12 more under development across nine cities in the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The company says it has nearly 800MW of capacity under development, a pipeline overseen by CEO Quy Nguyen, named permanent chief executive in August, as this publication reported. Fidelity Investments has owned Colt since 2015.
