Thai energy company Gulf has created Gulf Edge Data Center Company Limited as a holding company for its data center investments, according to a Thailand stock exchange announcement reported by Data Center Dynamics. The announcement, made this week, says the unit is wholly owned through Gulf Edge Limited and will focus on developing and providing data center services and related businesses.

GEDC will take a 70 percent stake in Gulf Edge Data Center 01, a 100MW campus under construction in Rayong province in the Eastern Economic Corridor. It is due live in the fourth quarter of 2027. Gulf has also set up holding companies for three further projects, GEDC 02 through GEDC 04.

Gulf's earlier data center investments have run through GSA Holdings Limited. GSA 01 in Samut Prakan province is set to total 25.6MW, and GSA 02, a 38MW Chonburi project also in the EEC, is due live in the first quarter of 2027. Gulf announced last year that GSA 02 will host Microsoft, and Gulf Edge has signed a strategic partnership with Google Cloud for access to AI infrastructure. Gulf owns roughly 23GW of gas and renewable power plants across Thailand, Vietnam and the US.
