Infrastructure Investor maps 4,000-plus LPs, GPs and funds

The database pairs who is raising infrastructure capital with who may write the check.

Private infrastructure fundraising is a matching problem before it is a capital problem. Managers raise blind pools for roads, data centers, and grid assets; allocators decide which pools fit their mandates. Infrastructure Investor has built a database that maps both sides. The platform tracks the investment appetite of more than 4,000 LPs and GPs, holds contact details for them, and carries intelligence on funds being raised worldwide, according to the company's data page.

The allocator side outweighs the manager side. The platform lists 1,350 GP profiles against 2,950 LP profiles, so roughly seven in ten profiles sit with investors. The split mirrors the structure of the market: fewer manager teams raising vehicles, a larger population of institutions choosing among them.

The fund file runs deeper than its public face. The database holds details on more than 3,500 infrastructure funds, and the fund-profile count stands at 3,700. What the public page shows is a table of the ten largest infrastructure funds in market by target size, with a button leading to the full list inside the database.

The long tail behind the top ten

Those ten are the headliners, not the market. Most of the 3,700 profiles sit outside the featured list. Target size alone does not define a vehicle; the database records strategy alongside target for funds being raised worldwide, so allocators can tell which market a fund actually belongs to.

The platform also organizes funds by sector and region. Its navigation covers data centres, energy transition, renewables, digital infrastructure, and transport as sectors, and North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa as regions.

One map, two sides

Infrastructure Investor describes the platform's purpose as bringing together fund investors and managers with matching interests. The contact details for those 4,000-plus LPs and GPs are the mechanism. A manager can see whose appetite aligns with a new vehicle; an allocator can see which funds are currently being raised.

The database records what is being raised and who is investing. It does not say which fund will draw the commitments. That is the allocator's call.
